[GFCA] Vote and Cherokee

Hello all-

I was recently informed that an email I thought went out to the membership
in December apparently failed to send. I apologize for that. Here is what
was in that email:

The final vote for the Policy resolution was an 8-1 vote for the
immigration topic. The voting schools were:

Grady
Westminster
Pace
Calhoun
Lambert
Woodward
Alpharetta
Riverwood
Marist

The NFHS recently announced the chosen topic for the 2018-2019 school year:

IMMIGRATION- Resolved: The United States federal government should
substantially reduce its restrictions on legal immigration in the United
States.

Additionally, Lyndsey of Columbus HS and Jordana of Westminster had a
request that was immediately agreed upon by GFCA Board members, and that is
to count the Cherokee HS Tournament as a participation tournament for State
participation purposes. This was what occurred in the past when the Grady
HS tournament was cancelled by its school district.
