[GFCA] 2015-2016 Potential Public Forum Topic Areas - Discussion

Coaches,

I had the opportunity to sit in on the National Speech & Debate Association
Public Forum Topic Wording Committee's session this afternoon.  The format
for this committee is 12 individuals from different parts of the country
and different schools meet to discuss the potential slate of topics for the
next year.

The eleven members in attendance presented 100 potential public forum
topics that they narrowed down into 22 topic areas.  Tonight and tomorrow
they have released the list to the public for general feedback in regards
to how resolutions would be worded under these topic areas, potential areas
for debate under the topics and overall opinions about the topic areas.

Instead of just releasing something as vague as "Energy Security" - I've
attached a document where after each topic area I have written a sentence
about potential resolutions that fall under the area.

Please take some time today or tomorrow to look over these and send any
feedback.  I will be researching the topic areas as well.  This is the best
way to have a voice in the topic writing process. On Wednesday, they will
have the final eleven topic areas for the year posted including the topic
choices for September/October.
