First & Second Year State Championships hosted at Gainesville State
College, we have a couple announcements that are vital for the weekend’s
competition.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""> 1</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""><span>.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman""> </span></span></span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">We
will have a <b><u>PHONE REGISTRATION</u></b>
on Friday morning for coaches to confirm their entries and judges.<span> </span>Phone registration will be handled from 11am
until 1:30pm.<span> </span><b>EVERY COACH needs to confirm their entries. </b><span> </span>Schools that do not confirm by 1:30pm will be
left off the Round 1 pairing and be given a loss for that round.<span> </span>Jeffrey Miller will be handling this process,
please call <a href="tel:%28404%29%20514-8002" value="+14045148002" target="_blank">(404) 514-8002</a></span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""> to complete the phone registration portion of the
tournament. you arrive at Gainesville State College, you should head towards the Academic 4
Building, where each coach will need to stop by the payment tables.<span> </span>In addition to completing the payment part
of your registration, you will receive Round 1 Pairings along with your
registration packet.</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""><span> </span></span></p><p><span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""><span>3.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman""> </span></span></span></span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">A couple of
topic reminders – the Lincoln Douglas divisions will be debating the NFL
January/February 2012 topic (<span>Resolved: It is
morally permissible for victims to use deadly force as a deliberate response to
repeated domestic violence.)</span><span> </span>The
Public Forum divisions will be debating the NFL January 2012 topic (</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""><span>Resolved: The costs of a college education outweigh the
benefits.).</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""><span>4.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman""> </span></span></span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">As
voted in December by the GFCA, the Novice Policy division <b><u>will not</u></b> have any argument restrictions.<span> </span></span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Novice debaters should be ready for any
theory, critique, counterplan, or other type of arguments.</span></p><p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""><span>5.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman""> </span></span></span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Please
make sure your school has paid its GFCA Dues. To attend the tournament, you
will be required to pay these dues.<span> </span>If
the GFCA has not received payment by Thursday, we will automatically add the
$25 fee to your registration bill.<span> </span>For

make sure you have indicated any student judges and their current year in High
School.<span> </span>Please also include any
conflicts that your student judges may have with other schools (relationships,
siblings, etc).<span> </span>This will assist in the
