I am honored to have been nominated for Director of Communications; however, I cannot accept the nomination this year. Any other year going forward would be better, so keep me in mind for the future as I would love to at some point serve on this board 😊

I would like to nominate Lauren Donnenfeld for the position of Director of Communications.

Please understand, there are too many things on my plate this upcoming year to be able to accept this nomination. I have to get my gifted certification next year; I am working with GA DOE to get the state Speech and Forensics class classified as a pathway under ELA; I am a GA Northern Mountain NSDA District committee member with responsibilities there; and now that Varsity State has moved up a weekend and I already promised to take my team to Harvard next year, I just can't commit to being away from my family every weekend in February.

The following offices are up for election. Each office is for two years, so these three officers will hold a two-year terms.The offices up for election are as follows. I have included a description of the offices underneath each office. Executive Chair
The Chair of the Committee shall be the chief executive officer of the association, shall preside at all meetings of the members and of the Executive Committee and shall have general supervision of the association.  The chair shall serve the organization’s chief spokesperson, promoting it through special events, competitions, face-to-face conversations, and in the media. The chair shall drive discussion about the vision, purpose, and goals of speech and debate, encourages involvement, and teaches others to take on leadership responsibilities.

Director of Operations
The Director of Communications shall perform such duties as are incident to her/his office including recording minutes of all meetings, sending appropriate communications to the membership including a monthly newsletter.

Director of Programs
The Director of Programs shall be responsible for maintaining, assessing and creating resources to help fill needs for member schools.  The director shall strategize and coordinate an assessment to determine and fill needs, programs team roles could include tasks such as but not limited to judge training and recruitment, curriculum, and workshops.  The Director of Programs will oversee the development of the Novice Policy Debate Packet.

Nominees have the right to decline nomination. If this occurs, the individual who nominated will be sent an email specifying that their nominee declined.
