[GFCA] Elections Clarification

Good morning-

Hello again! It is the Director of Communications that is up for election
this year, not Director of Operations. It is corrected below.

The following offices are up for election. Each office is for two years, so
these three officers will hold a two-year terms.The offices up for election
are as follows. I have included a description of the offices underneath
each office. For further information on GFCA elections, such as
qualifications and terms, see our bylaws which may be accessed at
www.gaspeechanddebate.org. Go to the drop down menu entitled "Resources" on
the website and click on "Governing Documents."

*Executive Chair*
The Chair of the Committee shall be the chief executive officer of the
association, shall preside at all meetings of the members and of the
Executive Committee and shall have general supervision of the association.  The
chair shall serve the organization’s chief spokesperson, promoting it
through special events, competitions, face-to-face conversations, and in
the media. The chair shall drive discussion about the vision, purpose, and
goals of speech and debate, encourages involvement, and teaches others to
take on leadership responsibilities.

*Director of Communications*
The Director of Communications shall perform such duties as are incident to
her/his office including recording minutes of all meetings, sending
appropriate communications to the membership including a monthly newsletter.


*Director of Programs *
The Director of Programs shall be responsible for maintaining, assessing
and creating resources to help fill needs for member schools.  The director
shall strategize and coordinate an assessment to determine and fill needs,
programs team roles could include tasks such as but not limited to judge
training and recruitment, curriculum, and workshops.  The Director of
Programs will oversee the development of the Novice Policy Debate Packet.


Please submit all nominations to Mario Herrera at rioherrera at gmail.com. You
will be sent a confirmation of your nomination. Nominees have the right to
decline nomination. If this occurs, the individual who nominated will be
sent an email specifying that their nominee declined.

Please be aware that since state Milestone testing begins for me today I
may not respond as quickly as I'd like but I will respond as quickly as
possible.
