I want to let everyone know that I will not be seeking a third term as
President of the Georgia Forensic Coaches Association. It his been my
pleasure to serve in this capacity for the last two years.

The decision based on several reasons. Primarily, I believe in self-imposed
term limits for officers so that different coaches can represent the
organizations in different ways. Secondly, with changes in educational
policies and needs, I would like to focus more on the classroom. Finally,
the office can be quite time consuming. With the challenges we all face,
time is of utmost importance. I look forward to spending more time with my
team and to re-focus on coaching the Jesters at Grady High School.

I encourage member coaches to consider running for this very gratifying
office. The relationships and knowledge gained during my terms in office
are invaluable to me.

I would also like to thank Jeff Miller, John McClellan, Richard Bracknell,
Adam Smiley and especially Lisa Willoughby for all of their thoughts,
ideas, encouragement, questions and comments over the last two years.
Area Coordinators have done wonderful things, and the support from all
corners of the state have made this challenging job a rewarding one. Every
single coach in this state contributes positively to the activity, and I
hope I have helped some along the way.

I intend to share my details thoughts about the current state of the GFCA
in an upcoming email. Until then, keep up the good work and I wish all of
you the very best. See you soon!

Mario Herrera
