Friends,

I wanted to let you know that we are pleased to announce that we have added student congress to the JHS Joust on Saturday, December 3. While Joy of Tournaments will assess a fee for each student congress entrant, those fees will stand only for students not entered in any other event. For example, if a student is entered in an IE such as dramatic interpretation and wishes to participate in student congress, too, the fee for student congress will be waived.

On another note, I also wanted to let all of you know that through inadvertent confusion, the date of our tournament coincides with the SAT being given at our school. Anyone participating in the Joust will need to please, please, please quietly enter through the entrance labeled debate (to the right of the covered area when looking at the front of the school) and go straight to the cafeteria at the back of the school to help reduce noise for the SAT takers. An entire wing of our building will be off limits during the testing the first half of the day, too. Fortunately we have been able to plan how both events can still take place, but we really need the cooperation of our participants, and I know all of you and your students understand the importance of the SAT.

The JHS debaters and I appreciate all your consideration in all these matters and look forward to seeing you at the Joust.

Sincerely,

Charity Wang
