[GFCA] GFCA Accepting Nominations for Hall of Fame

The GFCA is now accepting nominations for this year’s Hall of Fame
inductee.  *All nominations must be submitted by 4:00 pm on February 15th*.


Please send all nominations to Jeff Miller at jmill126 at gmail.com and Adam
Smiley at smiley at fultonschools.org.  Please also include a short description
of why you think this person is deserving of being inducted to the Georgia
Forensic Coaches’ Hall of Fame.  After the nominations close, we will send
out a ballot for the membership to vote for the new member of the Hall of
Fame.  The ballot will be accompanied by the descriptions of the candidates
that are submitted.  The authors of the descriptions will remain anonymous.
For examples of past descriptions of nominees, look at the Hall of Fame page
on the GFCA website (http://thegfca.org/about/history/hof/).

Below is the description of the Hall of Fame as listed in the GFCA bylaws,
note the requirement to have coached in Georgia for at least 5 years:


Recipients are then selected based on the following criteria, but not
limited to:

(1) The candidate is in good standing with the GFCA.

(2) The candidate demonstrates enthusiasm for forensic activities.

(3) The candidate has a high regard and respect for the students s/he works
with.

(4) The candidate has a high regard and respect for fellow coaches.

(5) The candidate works towards the improvement of the GFCA and forensic
activities in Georgia.

(6) The candidate promotes interest in interscholastic forensic activities
through the strength of her/his program.

(7) The candidate has acquired the respect of the students s/he works with
as well as other students in the community.

(8) The candidate has worked to foster the growth of forensic activities in
Georgia.

(9) The candidate has promoted speech and debate outside of the forensic
community in Georgia as an effective educational and communicative tool.

(10) The candidate has coached in Georgia for at least five (5) years.
