Dear Forensics Directors and Coaches:
The Barkley Forum for High Schools was started 56 years ago in order to
bring high quality debate and forensics competition to Georgia. As our
tournament has grown into a nationally competitive tournament, we have
noticed a decline in participation from Georgia schools--the very schools
our tournament was created to serve.
To encourage more Georgia schools to participate, this year we will be
waiving the entry fees for one policy team for any school that has not
participated in the tournament in the previous 5 years. The school will
still be responsible for providing judging or paying the judge fee. Once
tournament registration is up in mid-October (at
http://www.joyoftournaments.com/ga/barkley/info.asp), you just need to
submit your application online before the December 6, 2010 deadline, then
email the tournament administrator at emorybfhs at gmail.com to let her know
you qualify for the fee waiver.
We look forward to seeing many of you at Emory January 28-30, 2011!
Sincerely,
Melissa Maxcy Wade
Executive Director, Barkley Forum
